Resources for Your Culinary Studies
Deciding What You Need
1. Does your assignment require recipes? Books? Journal articles?
- If your syllabus asks you for recipes, these can be found in the library's large collection of cookbooks, or on the web. To find cookbooks, click on the Books tab above, and learn how to find books in the library catalog. If you want to search for recipies on the web, click on the Web Sites tab. This page lists helpful web sites on many culinary topics.
- If your syllabus asks for articles, click on the Articles tab above, and learn how to find articles in ProQuest.
- If your syllabus asks for web resources, click on Web Sites. These pages list helpful web sites on many accounting topics.
2. If no formats are specified, think about the age of the material you need.
- If you are researching a recipe or something that is a established fact, try books (found in the RTC Catalog) or encyclopedias (found in the RTC Catalog) or Credo Reference (found on the RTC Library Database page). Examples of established facts include topics like "the chemistry of cooking", or "the life of Antonin Carême".
- If you are reseaching something new, like "the latest restaurant trends" or "new legislation affecting the food industry", try journal and newspaper articles (found in ProQuest.)
